The Queen Blossoms Again

Posted in , ,

Yesterday night the Queen blossomed again.

Nishagandhi also known as the Queen of the night bloomed in my garden and this time too I was lucky to be home to feast my eyes on this beauty studded with diamonds (rain drops). The time was nearing 11 pm when it spread its magnificient whorls only to live for a few hours of the night. A little bud can also be seen near to the flower in full bloom. I am most likely to miss the bloom of this little bud.

I didn't have the digicam to shoot this time around so instead had to rely on my N-70 cell camera. The pics aren't as good as the ones clicked last year.

The fragrance was truly intoxicating and I let my senses off to quench its thirst upon this pure white Queen. Like last year I spent my time clicking away the time with this beauty.

More information about this flower and better pics can be had from my last year's post here.

Wow ... its been many days since I saw this flower. During the years gone past, I too used to assiduously grow the 'nishagandhi'. It is really a wonderful experience when it does flower.

I love the Nishagandhi!! :P Remember waking up EARLY to see the flower bloom in all its glory. Mom and dad used to forcibly wake me up for that. But alas, we don't own a Nishagandhi any more. :(

Btw, nice pics. N70 has a good camera and you apparently know how to use it well! :)
